For example, Calamitas is a Mech leveled boss, but was tougher (in my opinion) than the post Plantera boss from Thorium.Īs for Tremor, it is pretty much busted in my opinion.
A lot of the overpowered stuff in Calamity is in deep hard mode (mostly post moon) and for good reason: most of the bosses in hard mode Calamity have a much higher caliber than vanilla or even Thorium bosses. It also devalues money, making ammo and stuff like the clentam and witch doctor accessories trivial to get.Įdit: as for weapons, armors and bosses, the armor and weapons typically require defeating a Calamity boss to earn, which can be anything from a cakewalk to a headache. Revengance mode on Calamity makes the bosses incredibly challenging, if a bit on the unfair side. Note: since you've done Expert before, I highly recommend trying out Revengeance on Calamity - it's very much a challenge and a cool experience! Especially considering that it's primarily a single player game, and Terraria doesn't really become "broken" until lategame, with or without mods. Personally, in Terraria, I don't necessarily look for "balance" as much as I look for flavor, design, and fun/replayability.
I've heard good things about Spirit, and seen a couple of playthroughs with it implemented, but have yet to try it myself.
#CALAMITY MOD TERRARIA INSTALL#
Thorium is an excellent "first mod" if you don't want to install too many new things in a single playthrough - it's a fine mod. Tremor is currently outdated and being reworked, and as far I know doesn't work well with Calamity. The lore that comes with it is also well thought out and cool, but placed in such a way that you can ignore it if you don't care for it. The boss fights are memorable and the loot is unique. In my opinion, Calamity is one of the most well developed (if not the most well-developed) mods out there for Terraria.
